The story of “Rock On!!” was based on a few friends who have their own music band, which included Farhan. Now, Farhan wishes to do the same in real life as well. “Well I’d like to have a music band of my own,” said Farhan during the promotional tour of his latest flick “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”.

The Lucknow University (LU) Friday denied permission to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan to visit its campus for promoting his latest movie “Aarakshan”, which deals with the sensitive topic of reservation.

According to varsity officials, Bachchan and film director Prakash Jha were interested in coming to the campus for promotion of the movie. The duo was also to interact with the students on the campus as a part of the promotion activity.

“Taking into account the sensitive and controversial issue on which the movie is based, we have finally decided that the actor or anyone interested in visiting the campus for the promotion of Aarakshan will not be allowed,” LU spokesperson S.K. Dwivedi told reporters here.

“As the movie is based on a very sensitive topic, it could create differences on the campus, and at the same time can vitiate the varsity’s education atmosphere. Considering all this, we today (Friday) decided not to allow anyone on the campus for the film promotion,” he added.

Dwivedi, however, could not confirm the exact date when the actor was to visit the campus and interact with students.

“At the same time, we want to make it clear that if the actor wants to visit the campus for other reason other than the film promotion, then he would definitely be welcomed,” said Dwivedi.

Katrina believes that characters can actually change an actor’s career graph.

She feels that every character she has done so far has been different. “I want to put pieces of all of them together and do good films.” Recently, the actress was in Ahmedabad and she told reporters that she isn’t doing any film with Ranbir Kapoor but she is surely doing a film with Salman Khan.

As if Aamir Khan and Imran Khan’s mamu-bhanja PDA was not enough another chacha-bhateeja duo is here to paint the town red.

On Thursday night Abhay Deol organised a special trial of his recent film directed by Zoya Akhtar Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara at a multiplex in Bandra for Sunny Deol’s son and his bhateeja, Karan and his friends.

Incidentally, Karan, better known as Rocky in the Deol khandaan, is grooming to make his Bollywood debut in the next couple of years.

The 19-year-old has also enrolled for an acting course at Rahul Rawail’s Stella Adler Academy in Juhu.

A source close to the Deols said, “Karan is all set to storm Bollywood in the next couple of years. A proper launch vehicle is being planned. Karan will be launched by Vijayta Films and right now is being groomed. Earlier he joined Rahul Rawail’s acting academy.

Sunny is someone who firmly believes in Rahul Rawail. Rahul was the one who launched Sunny with Betaab and then made quite a few films with them.

He is also going to make the Yamla Paagla Deewana sequel. The 19-year-old is currently concentrating on his studies.”

The source further said, “Karan is extremely close to his father. So, far Karan has been protected and Sunny doesn’t want him exposed in Bollywood.

That’s why he is never seen at any of the parties or functions of any Deol film. However, now he will be making a lot of appearances before he makes his big debut.”

Karan, watching this chacha on-screen can be a fun and learning experience. Hope you learnt your lessons well.

Sonakshi Sinha might forgive but she doesn’t forget. The Dabangg actress was in talks to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in his home production, but was replaced at the last minute by Sonam Kapoor.

It seems the makers felt that Sonakshi and Shahid didn’t look good together on screen. Shotgun’s daughter was to do a screen test, but that never materialised once they decided to get the Kapoor girl. Now the tables have turned and Shahid wants to work with Sona, but she isn’t that keen after what happened in the past.

Buzz is that Kapoor has been sending feelers to the actresss through common friends. But it doesn’t look like you will see this jodi on the big screen any time soon.

In Bollywood, Salman Khan’s wish is the industry’s command. However, even Salman knows when to make an exception.

Considering it’s the actor’s first ever collaboration with YRF in the romantic thriller Ek Tha Tiger, he has decided to do as Aditya Chopra has requested, by blocking his dates exclusively for the project.

A source informed that Salman has always wanted an opportunity to build a relationship with the banner that his father, Salim, has worked extensively with, in the films Deewaar, Trishul and Kaala Patthar.

And while, this has motivated the actor to agree to Aditya’s terms, Salman’s brother and producer Sohail Khan will have to pay the price.

The source explained, “Salman will start shooting for Aditya’s project later in the month.

He was then scheduled to film for Sohail’s Sher Khan in September. However, with the actor’s latest arrangement with YRF, Sohail’s project will have to be postponed.”

Ek Tha Tiger, directed by Kabir Khan, also stars Salman’s ex-flame Katrina Kaif.

Most films with stories based on roads are not successful in India, but it’s a different scenario in Hollywood, where road movies are quite successful. Some of the popular Bollywood flicks, whose stories were centered around road/road trips are- Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Daud’, Yash Raj’s ‘Tashan’, Sajid Nadiawala’s ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, Dev Benegal’s ‘Road’ , Anurag Basu’s ‘Kites’ and the latest to  enter the list is Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.

Other than Abhay Deol’s critically acclaimed ‘Road’, all the other movies based on road, failed to excite the fans. While ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ made the right noises with the stylish look and racy music, it failed at the Box Office, for there was nothing new to the storyline.

Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kites’ performed deplorably at the Box Office, though it was a road movie with a cross border love story running parellel to the plot.

Abhay Deol’s ‘Road’ was critically acclaimed, but bombed at the Box Office. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,’ which released this Friday, is the latest road movie and if all goes well, it’ll break the jinx that the flop road movies have set. Initial reactions to ‘ZNMD’ are positive and some suggest that it gives the viewers just the right thrill with a little bit of adventure sprinkled here and there. Apparently, the road trip in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is not only exhilarating, but promises to give you some moments of real fun. So, if you want to embark on an extended road trip through Spain, go watch the new road movie ’Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.

Hopefully, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ will open a new genre of filmmaking in Bollywood, promising many more thrilling road experiences in the future.

It’s actress Katrina Kaif’s birthday today, but seems like the recent terror attacks in the city have put a dampener on her plans to party.

Though the actress still maintains that she’s no party animal, she does admit that it’s a good excuse to get together with family and friends. “That’s what I like. It’s fun to let your hair down and party once in a while,” says the actor, adding that one of her best gifts this year has been her film’s release on the eve of her birthday.

The actress has plans to have a muted get-together sometime later, but only if the rest of the cast of her latest film doesn’t surprise her first. “They are quite a pampering lot,” she says.

As for her other birthday plans through the day, the actress reveals that she has nothing planned as of now. “It’s all the people around who make it special for me. I usually like to spend a quiet day, unless I’m working. And no, I don’t mind working on a birthday!” she smiles.

This time around, two of Kat’s sisters are expected to fly down from the UK to join their elder sis and Kat’s excited about spending it with them. “I don’t believe in retrospecting about my life on my birthday as such, just count my blessings and thank God for them,” she shares. But she doesn’t rule out spending the day having some girlie fun.

However, not many are aware that the actor — like her good friend actor Salman Khan — also indulges in charity on the day, even though she may not spend a day with any NGO. And what’s on her birthday wish list? “Well, I’m happy with the way things are and with everything God’s given me. So, I really don’t know what to ask for?” Love? “I’m, sure God knows of that wish already!” she smiles

Rohit, why did your heroine walk in late?
Rohit takes the mike to answer
Kajal: (Interrupting) No no isme Rohit ki koi galti nahi hai. I got late because of the rain.
But you are not wet
Kajal: That’s because I was in the car (laughs).
Rohit: (To Kajal) Hyderabad is your territory so go on, only you answer (Ajay nods in agreement).
This is a big film for you, were you nervous?
Kajal is all set to answer
Rohit: (Interrupting) She was nervous.
Kajal: Yes, I was a little nervous, but it was actually a mix of both excitement and nervousness. My director and Ajay made me feel easy and comfortable.
What did Ajay say to you when he first met you?
Kajal is about to answer…
Rohit: He said hello’.
Kajal: (laughs) Yeah, right.
Why don’t we see you coming to Hyderabad with Ajay to promote the film since you are well known here?
Kajal: Uhmmmmm
Rohit: Ajay cancels it every time we plan to come to Hyderabad. (To Kajal) Tell them.
Kajal: It all depends on Ajay, and when he has the time to come to Hyderabad with me.
Did you take tips from the original film?
Kajal: I did watch the original and Anushka (Shetty) has done a fabulous job but I have done exactly what my director asked me to do.
The promos are more about Ajay than Kajal, actresses ko hamesha dabaya kyun jata hai?
Rohit: Dabaya kahan hai! Dabane ki toh koi baat hi nahi hai. Promos mein toh Kajal hi Kajal hai.
Kajal: (Interrupting) I promise, from now on, you will see only me and me and me (laughs).
Rohit: Even Sonakshi had a role in Dabangg , Kareena had a crucial part in Golmaal .
Kajal: (Interrupting again) I think it all depends on the story. And of course, I have a role in the film.
Is it important that the director and the actor share some chemistry too?
Rohit: (To Kajal) You answer first. Since she speaks well, you know.
Kajal: Yes, it is important that the director and actor share a bond. I share a very good rapport with him (Rohit). He is a fantastic person and director. I have this habit of asking too many questions and I ate his head with my questions (laughs).
Rohit: Kajal is fabulous. She is superstitious about the color white. We let her wear white on the first day of shoot. I hope it actually does us good, as she claims.

Every superhero needs their own mode of super-transport. While Spiderman has his web to swing with, Superman is bestowed with the magical ability to fly, thanks to his cape.

Hence,Shah Rukh Khan aka G.One in his forthcoming film RA.One has decided to borrow his superhero kin Batman’s bike for a sequence to be shot end of next week.

The very crucial scene, one of the few remaining to be shot for the film that is almost ready, will take place at Filmistan Studios, Goregaon.

The scene will have SRK vrooming in his superbike designed specially to resemble Batman’s batpod. “SRK will be doing a rescue act in the scene, which also requires him to indulge in some real adrenaline pumping stunts,” informed a source.

What’s more, Khan will be performing all the daredevil stunts himself. “No body double has been summoned for the shoot,” added the source. Shah Rukh Khan who is confident that he would pull off the stunts without a body double, will start rehearsing for the same today. And only after a week of practice, the star will shoot for the real sequence.

“Shah Rukh is not particularly fond of bikes himself. In fact, every time director Anubhav Sinha suggested that he bought one, Khan just refused saying there is no use for a bike,” revealed the source. However, for his dream project, Shah Rukh Khan seems to have revised his thoughts on riding a bike.

While SRK was holidaying in London with his family, the director of RA.One was busy preparing the set for the special shoot. Anaita Shroff Adajania had been arranging for Khan’s outfit for the scene.
