For a special medley in his forthcoming film ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap’
Amitabh Bachchan was seen glowing (literally!) at the shoot of his forthcoming flick Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap at Filmistan Studios, on Thursday. As part of a special medley composed for him, the Big B shot the famous Sara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana track in the exact same way he did in 1981. In sunglasses and an electric lightbulb suit!

Shaad Ali, the director of Bunty Aur Babli in which Bachchan starred too, called the shots for the shoot and Shiamak Davar did the choreography. Says a source, “Amitabh Bachchan and the background dancers (24 girls) wore similar costumes as in the original song. The sets were also identical to the original. Art director, Amrita Singh, had been given the brief to create a replica.”
Adds the source, “It was nostalgia time for Bachchan. He was shooting for the same track he shot for 30 years ago. He still clearly remembered every move. The shoot wrapped up late last night.” The song is part of a medley of Big B’s yesteryear tracks like Khaike Paan Banaras Wala, Rang Barse and Pag Ghungroo, which have been specially redone for the movie.
The original track
It was Amitabh Bachchan’s suggestion to use light bulbs on the jacket, for the song Saara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana from Yaraana in 1981. He got this idea after watching a bull fight sequence from an English film starring Robert Redford. He told director Rakesh Kumar, who instantly agreed. The switches for the lights on the outfit were in Bachchan’s hands. He synchronised the flashing of lights, while dancing to the rhythm of the music.

Actor Saif Ali Khan will be dating two ladies at a time, as he will now have two Bebo’s by his side.Bollywood’s Numero Uno actress Kareena Kapoor, is soon to be immortalised in wax.She is the newest addition to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and is quite humbled to be joining the likes of iconic stars from the film Industry.
Kareena says, “It’s an honor and privilege to be a part of Madame Tussauds. To be immortalised in wax is a dream come true. Right since the age of eight, I wanted to act and since I turned eighteen, I wanted a wax statue of my own. And now, that it’s finally happening.. I’m happy. It’s an affirmation of not just my stardom but my body of work and my talent. It’s also taking my family name forward. I’ve always been clear, I’m not here just to act, but I’m here to be part of history and to create a bit of my own”.
Supposedly, Kareena’s wax statue will be unveiled in September and she is quite upbeat and honored about it.

He’s groovy and famed for his grooving too. Zoya Akhtar, the canny moviemaker that she is, decided to put Hrithik Roshan’s talent to good use. In a twist that is likely to be meet with ready imitation later, Zoya opted to let Hrithik turn choreographer and craft the moves for the song track

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Interestingly, he’s made Farhan Akhtar dance to his tune too… and what’s better, it is Farhan who directed the number while Zoya took a directorial backseat.
States a close source, “Zoya’s film is about three boys on a road trip and everybody on the sets is like one big family. Farhan and Hrithik are good friends and wanted to make this film special. Zoya insisted that they do more than just act in her film.”
Adds the insider, “She requested Hrithik to choreograph khwabon ke parindey and asked her brother Farhan to direct the song. The number is basically about Hrithik talking of freedom and of breaking away from the rut of monotony.”
As per sources, Hrithik and Farhan showed up early on the sets of Zindagi Na Mielgi Dobara, showed her the moves and a pleased as punch Zoya was only to be in step with them. Hah, literally.
“Zoya was wondering how we would do it. So, we showed her the steps. For me, Farhan was the camera and I was the actor,” Hrithik is quoted to have said.

Deepa Mehta a director of International acclaim is busy with the promotional activity for the release of Water scheduled for the 9th of March.
She is busy preparing for her next project, which was earlier known as Komagata Naru and is now named Exclusive. She was very keen that Amitabh Bachchan, play the central role in the film. She is thrilled to have finally convinced him to act for her. Big B will be enacting the role of a nationalist who challenged the British in a unique and extraordinary way.
Deepa will be repeating John Abraham – he has worked with her in Water. The other stars are Seema Biswas, Kabir Bedi, and well-known British actor Terence Stamp.The movie is to be produced by David Hamilton and the music composer is A R Rahman. Javed Akthar will be the lyricist.

A two-hour special show will celebrate Valentines Day for TV viewers. It promises to be a magical evening of romance, fun and laughter.
Three special couples have been invited to participate in the show.
Shahrukh makes an entry, amidst heart shaped balloons and to the background score of the “Main Hoon Na” title song. Day, mood by making them discuss the romance in their personal life and marriage. They dance to “Chaiyya Chaiyya”at the end of their segment.
The sister – brother duo, of Zoya Akhtar and Farhaan Akhtar, follows this sizzling couple. Under Shahrukh’s expert tutelage Zoya reveals some of Farhan’s secrets which leave him embarrassed and laughing helplessly.
The third couple on the hot seat is Farah Khan and Karan Johar. Both of them are good friends and good friends of Shahrukh too. They are entertaining with their infectious humour.
All three couples will donate their prize money to charities close to their heart.

According to Amitabh Bachchan, there was no reason why his would be daughter-in-law would discontinue her film career.
He said there was no problem in her pursuing her career after marriage.
Tongue in cheek he also said that if her acting prowess proved to better than Abhishek’s than it was their problem not his.

Shruti Singh a lawyer in the Patna High Court has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Aishwarya Rai.
Aishwarya is a Manglik (Ruled by Mars) and this according to Hindu astrologers is not auspicious to her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan who is a non-Manglik. To overcome the negative effect of this, Aishwarya was married to a Peepal tree in Benaras and a Banana tree at a temple in Bangalore. Then she was married to an idol in a temple in Ayodhya.
According to Shruti such practices come under the Untouchability Act as in Article 17. It also violates fundamental rights. She says that the rituals performed by Aishwarya under the guidance and consent of the Bachchan family promotes superstition and blind faith among the common people
Shruti is a Woman’s Rights Activist. She has requested the court to issue a directive to stop the practice of Manglik girls first marrying a tree, an idol or an animal.
She demanded a public apology from the Bachchan family and also said that an FIR should be filed against Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Samajwadi Party leader, Amar Singh.

The Legion d’honneur award was bestowed on the First Man of the Bombay film industry – Amitabh Bachchan.
Saturday evening saw the Capital’s glitterati present to witness the event at the French Embassy. The entire Bachchan clan, including Amar Singh was present. Aishwarya, their soon to be daughter in law was present with her parents. This was her first public appearance with the Bachchan family after her engagement to Abhishek Bachchan.
The French Ambassador, Dominique Girard conferred the award on him. The Legion d’honneur award is the highest French distinction. Napoleon Bonaparte created it in 1802. Among the Indians to receive this award were, filmmaker Satyajit Ray and Sitar maestro Ravi Shankar.
Ambassador Girard spoke eloquently about Amitabh’s achievements and summed up his journey from Saat Hindustani to Sholay. He added mention of his charisma in the television program Kaun Banega Crorepati.
He said that Amitabh is a unique symbol in India. He is an ideal husband, is the father of 2 wonderful children and the star of all times.
Amitabh Bachchan looked dignified in a ‘bandh gala’ black suit. He said, “ I am truly humbled, I consider the honour not a personal achievement, but a recognition of the manifold achievement of Indian cinema”. He also said that, “Our cinema has evolved in consonance with the nation’s progress. When National economy has made a leap forward so has cinema.” He said Indian cinema was like a woven tapestry – vivid and multi-hued.
“Penguins – A Love Story” was screened on the occasion. It was the first French film to be officially released. Amitabh Bachchan did the narration of the film. This is an Oscar winning documentary.

Finally Bollywood’s hottest and most talked about pair are engaged. Though this was on the cards for sometime now – so it was not exactly a bombshell to anyone, the family was still surprised when Abhishek popped the question to Aishwariya after the international premiere of their movie Guru.
They were engaged in a quiet ceremony at Aishwariya’s residence “Le Mer”. Jaya Bachchan who was in Delhi flew to Bombay accompanied by family friend and well wisher – Samaj wadi Party Gen Secretary Mr. Amar Singh.
At Amitabh’s residence “Jalsa” they were joined by Anil Ambani and Tina Ambani and together they took the Shagun to Aishwarya’s residence. The ceremony took place between 8.30 and 9 pm. They both had their family’s blessings. This is obvious from the fact that they – Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek, and Aishwarya along with Abhishek’s sister Shweta had offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Sankatamochan temple about a month and a half back.
They have paired together in Dhai Akhsar Prem Ke, Kuch Na Kaho, Umrao Jaan and now Guru.
The wedding is set for the 19th of February. Teji Bachchan - Amitabh’s mother is critically ill so Amitabh hopes to have an early wedding.

The Bachchan’s seem to be mired in quicksand, which may either pull them in or the veritable straw will be enough to see them bounce back to the top.
Firstly the debacle with the TV channel Star for “Kaun Banega Crorepati”. After the magical success of KBC, which had the highest TRP”s and Star was at the top. Amitabh also benefited greatly as the popularity and the money earned bailed him out of imminent bankruptcy.
KBC 2 was launched, but failed to scale the TRP’s of the first glorious season. With 20 episodes pending Amitabh fell seriously ill. Star was only too willing to wait for him to recuperate. As they had paid him for all the episodes well in advance, but on approaching Amitabh they were in for a shock. Big B wanted to forget about the Season 2 and start fresh with Season 3. When Star suggested that he should complete Season 2 first, Big B was mightily upset and asked them to look for another anchor. He fully expected them to come back to him.
It looked like Star accepted Big B’s decision with alacrity. They felt it was to their advantage as they felt the show needed a breath of fresh air if it had to be arrested from sliding downwards. They wasted no time in getting Shahrukh to sign on the dotted line. So instead of going back to Amitabh as he had expected, they unceremoniously dumped him, albeit at Amitabh’s instigation.
Some rumors also claimed that Big ‘B’ had asked them to take his son in his place.
